What does the future of the Calgary Flames look like?

The future of the Flames looks good, you saw it last year, and you’re seeing it this year. Gaudreau, Monahan, Brodie, Bennett, Ferland, and Bouma. Those are the main young talents. But the future of this team comes down within the minors and CHL. The future of this team with those guys mentioned up there and the guys in the system, looks very bright. This team could become a future Chicago, or Anahiem, if these prospects turn out as expected.

They have a quality team right now that was winning games and got them into the second round of the playoffs against arguably the best team in the NHL and future Stanley Cup winner. I believe the future of this team is bright, I think they will be successful for years to come. This year was not a fluke, it was a year in which the kids got the chance to show what they can do.

Sean Monahan, who had a solid sophomore year, is looking like a future captain out there. That first line combined for 202 points in the regular season. They were on a tear in the third period. These guys are something special.

Johnny Gaudreau, a rookie season that has almost guaranteed a Calder trophy, he played like a young Patrick Kane. He has the moves, the hands, and the ability to dish and snipe. He has everything to do with the Flames future.

Jiri Hudler, had the best season of his career, with 76 points. He led the charge of the Calgary Flames and quite frankly looked like a completely different player out there. Look for him to possibly have something to do with the future but as of now his future is uncertain.

Sam Bennett, talk about an entrance. The playoffs were his guarantee to a slot on the roster next season. He came in with such a force, made it look like he wanted to be there, was hungry. He was hitting, scoring, battling, definitely will have a lot to do with the future of the Calgary Flames.

Michael Ferland, is a power forward beast. He looks like a young Milan Lucic. He was a big reason the Calgary Flames surpassed the first round of the playoffs. He gets under the skin of the other team, hits hard, scores, he is a dynamic player who could turn out to be better than Lucic himself.

The Calgary Flames future is bright, they drafted well and after a nine season playoff drought, the tables have turned.
