Flames MVP, Gaudreau clear winner?

Is it fair to say, that from what we have seen so far from Johnny Hockey, he deserves to be called the MVP of the Flames?

Johnny GaudreauCalgary Flames

Johnny Gaudreau

Height/Weight:5-8/155

Birthdate:8/13/1993

Age:22

Hometown:Salem, NJ, USA

Gaudreau scored the game-winning goal and had an assist Thursday against Buffalo. This kid does it all. Gaudreau has scored five time in his last four games and is up to 28 points on the season –10th most in the NHL. The 22-year-old has already scored four game-winning goals this year and continues to mesh with Sean Monahan on the top line. Gaudreau has become a reliable and consistent source of point production in just his second NHL season.

SCOUTING REPORT
Assets: Owns tremendous instincts in the offensive zone and can generate a ton of offense at lower levels. Skates very well and is extremely creative with the puck.
Flaws: Must overcome significant height and weight disadvantages in order to maximize his scoring prowess at the highest level. Could also stand to be more selfish.
Career Potential: Talented, albeit diminutive scoring winger with good upside.

Monahan scored a pair of goals and added an assist in Thursday’s win over Buffalo. That’s a four-game point streak for Monahan, who is on fire right now. The 21-year-old has scored in back-to-back games and is up to 10 goals and 22 points in 29 games on the season. The top-line center is a fantasy stud right now and will be for many, many years to come. Keep him rolling, as he’s on track for another super season.

SCOUTING REPORT
Assets: Owns a very projectable 6-2 frame, a wealth of all-around ability, hockey sense and two-way appeal. Is the type of center who makes his linemates better players.
Flaws: Is not a very physical player, despite his size, but he must learn to use it more effectively (and more often). To that end, he also needs to gain even more strength.
Career Potential: Talented all-round center with good upside.

#5, D, Calgary Flames
SCOUTING REPORT
Assets: Skates well, moves the puck and possesses good offensive ability. Always works hard to improve his all-around game. Can be a factor on the power play. Underrated in physical contests, he’s developing into a top-notch team leader thanks to his tenacious, warrior style of play. Is an excellent shot-blocker.
Flaws: While he’s very strong, he does not possess ideal National Hockey League size for a blueliner, so he can at times struggle against bigger forwards in his own end. Needs to continue shooting the puck more in order to maximize his offensive potential.
Career Potential: Solid team leader and all-round defenseman.

#67, RW, Calgary Flames

SCOUTING REPORT
Assets: Has loads of offensive flair and scoring ability. Sneaky fast, he knows how to create openings in offensive situations and dish off the puck with aplomb. Versatile, he can play all three forward positions.
Flaws: Needs to bring it every night, as he still battles the inconsistency bug. Also needs to simplify his game (at times) and be more assertive by concentrating on the safer option instead of the highlight-reel play.
Career Potential: Skilled winger with consistency issues.
