How about the Arizona Coyotes?!

Hi my name is Lauren and I will be posting about the Arizona Coyotes. This is my first post so I thought I should talk about how the Yotes are doing this season.

Currently this team is in 4th place in the pacific division and 22nd in the league. They are 24-22-6 with 54 points. The Coyotes have been doing a whole lot better this season than last. This year they actually might get a playoffs spot if they get it together and take second place back.

The Coyotes are in need of solid goaltending. Right now being between the pipes each game it’s either Louis Domingue, or Anders Lindback.  Louis has done amazing this season, considering it’s his rookie year. He has two shutouts on record and hopefully many more to come. Then Anders, he doesn’t have any under his belt, but he will eventually have one or two by the end of the season I am hoping. We currently do not have a solid starter goaltender because Mike Smith has been out most of this season due to surgery. He is expected to play in about 2-3 weeks. He’s currently skating with the team during morning skate without any pads for a short amount of time. He is working hard to get to the point of skating the entire morning skate, then eventually start wearing all his pads. He’s currently 10-9-1, with 1 shutout this season.

This team is going through a rough patch of not knowing where to go after this season. There are rumors of them moving to ASU and sharing an arena with the ASU hockey team, moving to the east side, building an arena for the Suns and the Coyotes to share and also them moving to the colosseum. I personally would like to see the team build an arena and share it with the Suns.

The Coyotes have gotten hated on so much these past couple seasons because they are a “bad” team and they should move to a state where they are wanted. Hockey thrives in the desert and they deserve to stay here. The city of Glendale just wants more money. They are a needy city. Gila River is a nice arena but when I go to games, I just get a vibe that they are not wanted there. They are in the rebuilding stage.

This season alone, they have done fantastic. Well the first half of the season they have. The second part of this season they have had a rough start. They will get back onto their feet and let the past be the past and they will rock that ice. In the next couple of seasons, they will definitely make it to the playoffs and get close to raising Lord Stanley. Because they have the skill and talent these young rookies have to show, like Max Domi, #16; Anthony Duclair, #10; and Louis Domingue, #35. They also have an amazing and loyal Captain, Shane Doan #19. I would love to see him raise the Cup before he is retired. He is just a class act guy! This season, he broke franchise record for most goals, 380+! That is awesome to know that our captain is here to stay with the team.

Well, since this is my first post, it might be a little rough. I’d love to know what you guys thought!

Go Yotes, Lauren.
