Tonight the Calgary Flames take on the Toronto Maple Leafs but the Flames will not look much like themselves as it was announced prior to the game that Flames forwards Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau and Lance Bouma would be healthy scratches due to disciplinary reasons.
It was reported yesterday during the Flames morning skate that Monahan and Bouma (who are roomates) showed up to practice 15 minutes early and hungover. Bouma was then sent off the ice with what Flames Head Coach Bob Hartley called an “illness.” It was also reported that Johnny Gaudreau was also hungover at practice.
After only a 25 minute morning skate yesterday Hartley called his team to the corner of the ice and was frustrated with the team. When finished Hartley skated off and that was the end of the skate.
Gaudreau and Monahan are #1 and #2 respectively in Flames scoring. Gaudreau has 21 goals and 49 points in 51 games and Monahan has 35 points in 51 games. Bouma, who missed 31 games due to a broken fibula and upper body injury, has 1 goal in 17 games.
