Game Preview: Dallas Stars at Chicago Blackhawks

The Dallas Stars travel to the United Center to take on the Chicago Blackhawks as they seek revenge after being embarrassed on home ice just 5 days ago. Lets take a look at how these two central division rivals stack up:

Dallas Stars (54 GP-34 W-15 L-5 OTL-73 Points):

Teams leaders:

  • Points: Jamie Benn-61
  • Goals: Jamie Benn-28
  • Assist: John Klingberg-35
  • Plus/Minus: Alex Goligoski-+17
  • Wins: Anti Niemi-20

Projected Starting Goalie: Kari Lehtonen

Chicago Blackhawks (57 GP-36 W-17 L-4 OTL-76 Points):

Team Leaders:

  • Points: Patrick Kane-76
  • Goals: Patrick Kane-32
  • Assist: Patrick Kane-44
  • Plus/Minus: Patrick Kane-+22
  • Wins: Corey Crawford: 31

Projected Starting Goalie: Corey Crawford

The Stars are going to be without Jason Spezza due to an upper body injury. Artemi Panarin is questionable to return, he is still battling an illness. He was not present at morning skate for the Hawks, so consider him highly questionable. With that being Said Jiri Sekac would replace him in the line up, with him and Teuvo Teravainen rotating in that second line left wing spot.

Score Prediction:

Dallas Stars: 4

Chicago Blackhawks: 3

The Dallas Stars will come out hot but I think the Blackhawks will hold them off. This game will go down to the wire, but I think the Stars will take this game in overtime. It will be interesting to see if Kane can get back on the score sheet, even if his partner in crime Artemi Panarin is out again. The Stars are only 3 points back of the hawks with 3 games in hand, so a win here would keep them right in the thick of things for first in the central.
