Iginla Tallies Three Points, Avalanche Knock Off Sens

The offensive catalyst for the Avs tonight was 38 year old Jarome Iginla as the Avalanche knock off the Senators 4-3.

He scored twice on the power play and added a helper along with 26 save performance from Semyon Varlamov gave the Avalanche another two points in the Central Division playoff race. Tyson Barrie, Blake Comeau and Carl Soderberg all added 2 points as well. This was the Colorado’s first win since the All-Star break.

Dion Phaneuf who was playing in his second game as an Ottawa Senator picked up his first and second career point as a member of Ottawa. Erik Karlsson also picked up two assists as well on the night and Andrew Hammond picked up the lost for the Sens.

Colorado continues their three game road trip at the Joe Louis Arena tomorrow night against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Senators look to get back into the win column on Saturday night against Columbus at.
