Our Daily Picks for Thursday, March 17th, 2016

Our pick: Red Wings

The Wings have been much better than the Blue Jackets this season. Detroit plays a solid all-around game under Blashill, which has helped them win, in many occassions. Columbus has definitely turned it around since their abysmal start to this season, though it will not be enough to beat the Red Wings.

Our pick: Minnesota Wild

New Jersey lost a lot of their offense and defense, when they traded away Lee Stempniak and Eric Gelinas at the deadline. Minnesota is in the midst of trying to turn their season around. Even though their offense has been streaky this season, they are still a better team than New Jersey.

Our pick: Pittsburgh Penguins

Pittsburgh brings more firepower than Carolina. Carolina moved their captain, Eric Staal at the deadline, which was a lot of their firepower. The Pens are without Evgeni Malkin, which does hurt them offensively, but not enough to lose to the Hurricanes.

Our pick: Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have been great this season, the Maple Leafs however, not so much. Florida bulked up at the deadline, seeing their offense build even more, by adding Teddy Purcell and Jiri Hudler. The Leafs are in the midst of a rebuild and they know that. The Panthers are a much better team than the Leafs.

Our pick: New York Islanders

This is an even matchup between two good teams. Although, the Islanders have the Preds beat when it comes to offensive firepower. This will be a good game to watch. The only thing that could hurt the Islanders is losing Jaroslav Halak, but Thomas Greiss has the best save percentage in the league. The Predators are strong defensively and in the crease, but their offense is still lacking.
