Our Daily Picks for Friday, March 18th, 2016

Sens (33-30-8) vs Sabres (28-33-10)

Our pick: Ottawa Senators

The Sens are coming into Buffalo tonight with momentum. They beat the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night, and are well rested for tonight’s game. The Sabres defense is weak, although with a good offense they could stand a chance.

Preds (36-22-13) vs Capitals (50-14-5)

Our pick: Washington Capitals

The Capitals are the best team in the league. They are easily the most well-rounded team in the NHL. The Predators have momentum coming into this game, and a top-five defensive core that could give them an opportunity to win.

Blackhawks (41-24-6) vs Jets (29-36-5)

Our pick: Chicago Blackhawks

The Hawks are easily one of the deepest teams in the Conference, if not the league. Andrew Ladd is coming back to Winnipeg, let’s hope for a good reunion. The Hawks are without Corey Crawford day-to-day, although it won’t be enough to fall to the Jets.

Avalanche (36-31-4) vs Flames (30-35-5)

Our pick: Colorado Avalanche

The Flames have had a rotten year, not living up to last year’s expectations whatsoever. The Avs haven’t been much better, but they are above .500. Although, the Flames have always been a good team at home, which gives them a chance to win.

Canucks (27-30-12) vs Oilers (28-38-7)

Our pick: Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks are a much better team than the Oilers. The Oilers haven’t been very good, which is leading them to break the record for most consecutive years out of the playoffs. Oilers defensive depth will hurt them in this game, like it has this season.

Bruins (39-24-8) vs Ducks (38-22-9)

Our pick: Anaheim Ducks

Both of these teams are deep. This will be a good game to watch. Where I can see the Ducks winning, is in the defensive side of the game. Anaheim’s defense is much better than Boston. Also, it’s in Anaheim, so the Ducks have the advantage.
