Toronto Maple Leafs’ forward Nazem Kadri has been suspended for four games, without pay, for cross-checking Detroit Red Wings forward Luke Glendening on Saturday, April 2nd.
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced it today.
The incident occurred at 7:23 of the second period. Kadri was only accessed a two-minute minor penalty on the incident.
Kadri is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Kadri will forfeit $200,000 based off his average annual salary. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Nazem Kadri has now forfeited $396,078.77 in salary for three NHL suspensions, two diving fines and one throat-slash fine.
