Blackhawks Trade Bickell and Teravainen to Hurricanes

Trading season has begun. Many Chicago Blackhawks are on the chopping block this season, including fan favorite Andrew Shaw. The first trade was conducted today.

Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman traded Teuvo Teravainen and Bryan Bickell to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a 2016 second round draft pick as well as a 2017 third round draft pick.

The Salary Cap era has sent many great Blackhawks players to other teams, and Bickell and Teravainen are no exceptions. Bickell has one two cups in his career as a Blackhawk, and Teravainen has one (earned in his rookie year at only 20 years old).

In the end, hockey is a business, and these trades will open up cap space for fan favorite Andrew Shaw.

Thank you to both Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen for your amazing contributions to the Chicago Blackhawks organization and best of luck in Carolina!
