The Florida Panthers have acquired the negotiation rights to pending UFA defenseman Keith Yandle from the New York Rangers for a 2016 6th round pick and 2017 4th round pick if Yandle signs with Florida.

Yandle, 29, scored 5 goals and put up 47 points in 82 games with New York. Yandle’s cap hit this season was at $5.25 million and could potentially raise.

Yandle was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 4th round (105th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He spent 8 seasons with Arizona before being traded to the Rangers at the 2015 NHL Trade Deadline.

In his career, Yandle has 369 points in 661 career NHL games.
