SIGNING – Andrew Ladd finds new team in New York Islanders

Andrew Ladd and the New York Islanders have agreed to a 7 year/$38.5M deal. Ladd is a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Blackhawks and Hurricanes and a former captain with the Jets that will add some leadership to the Islanders locker room. He put up 25 goals and 21 assists with the Jets and Blackhawks after being acquired at the trade deadline.

He’s 30 years old now but doesn’t seem to be slowing down, scoring over 20 goals in each of the last 6 except the 48 game lockout season where he still managed 18. You’ll see him man the wing next to Tavares or Cizikas on either of the top 2 lines.
