Steve Yzerman and the Tampa Bay Lightning just keep working their magic, signing Nikita Kucherov to a three-year deal worth an annual average of $4.766 million.
Yzerman definitely doesn’t get enough credit for what he has done, keeping one of the best teams in the NHL together. This puts an end to the rumors surrounding him bolting to the KHL. This is a huge deal at an extremely low price which works for the benefit of Tampa as they need multiple players to take a home discount to keep their core together
How Lightning fans and Kucherov fantasy owners are feeling after today:
Next on Tampa’s signing list are Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Jonathan Drouin, Nikita Nesterov, and Andrej Sustr among others. From this list I see a lot of money with possible 4-6 million contracts to Palat, Johnson, and Drouin and 2-4 million for Nesterov and Sustr.
Don’t underestimate the Tampa Bay Lightning. This team wants to stay together, they want to win.
