Devils vs. Lightning: Game night

This evenings game for the Devils in Tampa Florida has two goals already by Kyle Palmieri , and Travis Zajac. The earlier experiences of this New Jersey Devils team I have seen these adjectives “fast, attacking, supportive, relentless, wise, and disciplined.” With guys like Taylor Hall and Pavel Zacha around the team has used the above descriptions when they display a very solid forechecking game. With a very solid forechecking game things that seemed impossible last year. This will be more possible this year with more points created closer to the opponents net.

I am not worried that much about the penalty kill because Coach Hynes has laid the strict disciplinary actions to build a more sage style without coughing up many mistakes for the new system that is installed.

Last year The Devils did pretty well in Overtime where the 3 on 3 really benefited them last season. What I want to see from this team is to win more than last year and create more PPG chances as well as even strength goals.

After a tough loss to a team like the Panthers in OT I feel this team is fermenting into a very well crafted team the way a master beer maker and plans on making a winning recipe. That process is by the GM, Ray Shero who has acquired as many assets to build in the short and long term with his management style.

To win this game versus Tampa Bay is to wear down their defense. With the forwards the Devils have they can harass the puck carriers all game long and cash in on turnovers. The next thing is stay strong in the Neutral Zone, and keep the players fresh and applying the pressure with long passes on mismatches.

I’m not too worried these days because I know this year’s team is in the good hands of Shero.
