Penguins extend Murray, 3 years $11.25M

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed goaltender Matt Murray to a three-year contract extension, worth $11.25 million.

This deal implicates that Pittsburgh plans to use him, and perhaps use Fleury as a bargaining chip. Murray looked solid last season, and really proved his worth to this Stanley Cup winning Penguins team. Might the Penguins wait until Murray is healthy then trade Marc-Andre Fleury?

The 22 year old Murray is 9-2-1 in his NHL career, while posting a 2.00 GAA and a .930 SV%.
