Sens acquire forward Tommy Wingels from San Jose

The Ottawa Senators made a trade on Tuesday, acquiring forward Tommy Wingels from the San Jose Sharks. This trade is likely to replace highly missed forward Clarke MacArthur.

Tommy Wingels has spent his entire seven-year career in San Jose. On the season he has 5 goals and 3 assists, for eight points in 37 contests. In 337 career games, Wingels has 51 goals and 71 assists, for 122 points. This trade is good for the Senators, adding another solid two-way forward to the arsenal.

This trade sees Tommy Wingels go to Ottawa in exchange for Buddy Robinson, Zack Stortini and a 2017 7th-round pick. Buddy Robinson, who was signed as a free agent in 2013, has played in four NHL games this season and is trusted with big minutes in Binghamton. Stortini has spent majority of his professional career in the AHL.
