Marc-Andre Fleury could very well end up on another team this season, as the NHL’s Trade Deadline approaches. With the expansion draft looming and Pittsburgh not wanting to lose a goalie, they could very well be moving Fleury at the deadline.
Penguins GM Jim Rutherford says he will listen and respect his Fleury’s trade deadline wishes.
“The one thing I’ll have to watch for and keep the lines of communication open with the player is, is he OK with the situation that he’s in?” Rutherford told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Going back to last year and to this point in time, he has handled it like a true pro. No issues at all.
“It may play out that we may be able to go right through having two top goalies on our team. We just have to keep an eye on what direction Marc wants to go here in the next few weeks.”
Marc-Andre Fleury is 13-7-4 this season, with a 3.23 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. He could be a vital part on a team with playoff hopes.
