The St. Louis Blues have placed forward Paul Stastny on the injured reserve.
General manager Doug Armstrong announced in a press release that Stastny sustained the injury, described as a “lower-body” issue, in a 2-1 OT win against Toronto on Feb. 9. It appears Stastny was injured when he became tangled up with Nazem Kadri and fell awkwardly. Stastny left the game after the collision and did not return.
The 31-year-old has 15 goals and 35 points in 54 games this season, while making $7 million. He has one more season on his contract, before he becomes UFA-eligible.
