Flames Sign D Matt Bartkowski

The Calgary Flames announced today that the team has signed defenseman Matt Bartkowski to a 2-year, two-way deal.

This coming just 24 hours after the team announced he’d be joining the club on a PTO contract.

Bartkowski, who has spent this season with the Boston Bruins AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, has put up 10 points in 34 games which includes 2 goals.

Drafted by the Florida Panthers 190th overall in 2008, the 28 year old has played 211 NHL games between Boston and Vancouver and has scored 42 points.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed but according to CapFriendly, the deal is worth an AAV of $612 500. The left handed shot defenseman does not know whether he will stay with the Flames or report to Calgary’s AHL affiliate the Stockton Heat.
