Capitals and Rangers swap minor leaguers

On the eve of trade deadline day the Capitals and Rangers have made a minor league deal. Heading to the Rangers is Chris Brown and in return the Capitals receive Ryan Bourque.

C Chris Brown, 25, was drafted 36th overall in the 2nd round of the 2009 entry draft by the then Phoenix Coyotes and has since played in 23 NHL games recording 2 goals and 1 assist to go along with 21 penalty minutes. This year with the AHL affiliate Hershey Bears he has 3 goals and 6 assists in 20 games.

LW Ryan Bourque, 25, was drafted 80th overall in the 3rd round by the New York Rangers in 2009 and has since played in only 1 NHL game where he was held off the score sheet. This season with the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack he has 10 goals and 14 assists in 55 games to go along with 13 penalty minutes.
